1. Executive Director Regeneration and Tourism
This is a pivotal position which will help us realise our ambitions for Blackpool to become a “World Class Resort”.
Working with ReBlackpool we have already achieved some ground breaking regeneration and economic development initiatives, including the re-building of the sea defences, creation of a new promenade and renewal of the tramway, a £200m programme that is well underway. In addition, we have a successful LEGI Programme, for the creation of enterprise and employment and a strong, well regarded approach to neighbourhood management. We are working closely with English Partnerships and the Housing Corporation on a Housing Intervention Strategy for Blackpool and have applied to be a Housing Growth Point. On the Tourism front, we have secured funding for the development of a major events programme and this will be further enhanced by the creation of a 20,000 capacity events space as part of our Promenade Renewal Scheme. To maximise these huge investments, and ensure that Blackpool achieves real benefits, we need to focus our efforts on ensuring a seamless and coherent approach to the physical, social and economic regeneration.
This is where you come in - we are looking for a creative, customer focused and strategic thinker who can influence and shape the relationships with our local and regional stakeholders, work across organisational boundaries and support the major transformational change to deliver the New Blackpool.
We have in place a well developed plan for regeneration and have the support of regional partners including Government Office North West, the North West Development Agency, English Partnerships and the Housing Corporation. We are committed to delivering our vision for the town and I look forward to meeting energetic, ambitious individuals who can play a key part in this transformation.
2. Assistant Chief Executive
This is a new position that will work directly to myself. I am passionate about Policy and Communications being at the heart of the organisation, the function that oils the wheels of the organisation. You will be given the opportunity to make your mark within this team and you will have my full support. These are two key teams within the organisation that are also pivotal in helping to realise the ambitions of a “world class resort”
