Housing and Leisure

If it is urban living you are looking for or the country way of life, Blackpool can offer you both in abundance. It has a wide choice of homes available in the town itself or in the beautiful countryside surrounding Blackpool. And you get a lot for your money!

Most recently Blackpool has been under the media spotlight with the popular TV show 'Strictly Come Dancing' and as you would expect in the UK’s premier holiday resort you have Blackpool’s famous tower, the illuminations, rollercoasters, the “Golden Mile”, clubs and world-class shows. There are also a wide selection of cosmopolitan restaurants and bars for all tastes and vibrant nightclubs.

There is much more to see in Blackpool, by venturing just a mile or so into the surrounding countryside. As an alternative, there is Stanley Park, the area’s award winning horticultural and wildlife park with its multipurpose sports centre and extensive golf course. In fact the Fylde coast should be named the golf coast with 9 golf courses, and the British Open being held on the coast in 2012.

In contrast to Blackpool, just along the cost is Lytham with its peaceful parks, sandy beach, beautiful gardens and old half-timbered buildings. The Grundy Art Gallery, situated in Blackpool itself, houses a large selection of Victorian oils and watercolours, prints, modern British paintings, oriental ivories, ceramics and photographs of old Blackpool. Six miles along the coast is the seaside resort and busy port of Fleetwood with a traditional pier, yacht marina and promenade.
